Come Down Riddim

The guitar lick and clipped drum pulse give Come Down Riddim that late-’80s dancehall snap, the kind of groove that still feels built for a sound system rinse-out. Wild Apache’s production keeps it taut, and Super Cat’s “Come Down” sits right at the center of it, riding the riddim with that lean, rough-edged authority he was already known for by 1988. Wayne Fire’s “Sexy Body” adds a lighter, more playful counterpoint, so the release moves between swagger and flirtation without losing its pressure. It’s a small set, really just the version and two vocal cuts, but that’s part of the charm.
