Yaunolavha Riddim sits in that 2013 dancehall pocket where the swing is lean, the drums are clipped, and the whole thing keeps a sharp, local feel through the vocals as much as the rhythm. Gt Beats Production lines up ten cuts here, opening with the intro before moving through Jah Hanief’s “African Whine, ” Joshmat’s title-track version, Jusa Dementor’s “Anything Mi Wan, ” and the combo run from Lexxkay 45 and Nasty Tricks on “Ndokaisa Pai. ” The song titles lean heavily into Shona phrasing, which gives the juggling a regional stamp and keeps it from sounding generic.
