Coming in on a dark little 2011 dancehall swing, WMG Damage Riddim keeps the focus on tension and talk, with Warrior Music Group lining up eight cuts from six names. M. W. A’s “Rise Up” sets the tone with a rallying edge, while Dappa Diesel’s “Devil Pon Shoulder” leans into the bad-man pressure suggested by the title. Fire Ras gets two shots at the riddim, and “Damage Control” feels like the sharper of the pair, all nerves and warning signs, while War Professa’s “Fake Friend” and “My Type Of Killing” push the project further into that rough-edged, suspicious corner of the dancehall. It’s the kind of mid-era juggling that still sounds very much of its moment, and the compact track count keeps the whole thing moving without much fat on it.
