War Life Riddim – Spit Fiyah Records

Out of Jamaica’s mid-2010s dancehall run, War Life Riddim lands with that tense, gun-talk energy the period was pushing hard, but Spit Fiyah Records gives it a cleaner, more rolling pulse than the title might suggest. The cut leans on a steady 99 BPM swing, which leaves room for Masicka’s sharp “Gas Dem, ” Teejay’s “Rifle A Wave, ” and Dwayno’s “(666) Sen Dem Home” to hit with plenty of space around the vocals.
