Vice Grip Riddim – Voicebox Muzik

Out of the 2013 dancehall run, Vice Grip Riddim lands as one of Voicebox Muzik’s leaner juggling sets, a 11-track package that keeps the energy on the sharp, raw side rather than chasing a glossy crossover feel. Eagle’s “Style, ” Storm Boss’s “Bad 2 Da Bone, ” and Xx3eme’s “Feel The Vibes” give it most of its bite, while the combination cut “Wine Don’t Stop” adds a little extra movement to the sequence. Voicebox Muzik would go on to push a much bigger ensemble feel on War March a year later, but Vice Grip already has that street-level, crowd-ready tension that marks their early work. It sits neatly in the producer’s catalogue as a compact, no-frills Dancehall drop from that period.
