UNLEADED RIDDIM produced by UNLEADED 2000
Unleaded Overview
Back in the year 2000, dancehall parties in Jamaica were full of energy. Selectors played the hottest riddims, and the crowd always wanted something new and powerful. When the Unleaded riddim dropped, it became a favorite for night parties and street dances. The sound was sharp and catchy, perfect for the bashment style that was popular at the time. The bashment arranger on this project helped shape the riddim’s sound. Bashment — War Go Increase was one of the standout tracks, and it showed how the arranger’s work could lift the whole vibe. The rhythms were tight, and every artist brought their best. The producer, UNLEADED, had a reputation for making strong dancehall beats. Known for working with top labels, UNLEADED’s productions always seemed to get the dancers moving. This riddim was another example of their impact on the scene. Assassin jumped on with Won't, bringing his quick lyrics. Capleton, famous for his fiery style and big tunes like “Jah Jah City,” delivered Say What U Say. Lady Saw, the queen of dancehall who won a Grammy for her work with No Doubt, gave us Unleaded. Sean Paul, who would soon break international charts with “Get Busy,” added Gun Speech. Sizzla’s Bam Rush rounded out the lineup. This riddim showed what yard music was about: energy, lyrics, and pure dancehall spirit.
