UNFINISHED BUSINESS RIDDIM produced by TJ RECORDS
Unfinished Business Overview
In 2008, dancehall was alive with energy across Jamaica’s dance floors and street parties. DJs searched for the newest sounds to excite the crowd, and one riddim soon became a favorite at every bashment: Unfinished Business Riddim. This set captured the spirit of the time, blending catchy melodies with the driving force that defines dancehall. TJ RECORDS, the label behind the riddim, played a big role in shaping the sound of modern dancehall. Founded by Linton “TJ” White, the producer and his team became known for working with top artists and releasing tracks that made waves both in Jamaica and overseas. TJ RECORDS helped launch several careers and kept dancehall fresh with their innovative style. Unfinished Business Riddim brought together some of the genre’s brightest voices. Serani delivered “Play It Straight,” a track that stood out for its smooth flow and catchy hook. Spice, always bold, gave fans “Best Kitty,” a song that quickly became an anthem for women in the dance. Vybz Kartel, known for his lyrical skill, added “Cock Up Is A Ten,” which heated up every session. Lady Saw, the queen of dancehall, brought attitude and wit on “Grudge Mi.” Erupt’s “Set The Place” lived up to its name, making partygoers move. Other strong tracks came from Assassin with “Jah Nah Mek Mi Suffer,” Flippa Mafia’s “No Man Like Me,” Buju Banton’s “Waterworks,” New Kids’ “Dem Fail,” and Bugle’s “What Dem Doing.” Together, these songs built a set that remains a classic, marking an important chapter in dancehall history.
