Umbrella Riddim – Del-One Production

Cutting straight to the point, Umbrella Riddim is a small 2008 Del-One Production set with just two voicings and an instrumental, which gives it a neat, almost tape-like feel. Tasha’s “Can’t Live So” comes in both edit and raw versions, and Sanjay’s “Hard Fi Believe” does the same, so the project leans more on contrast in delivery than on variety of singers. Delon Thompson keeps the production under a tight hand, and the instrumental makes that clear: a stripped dancehall pattern with clipped drums, a steady pull in the low end, and enough space for the vocals to sit right on top. It plays like a compact local release from the era, driven by a mid-tempo bounce and a bassline that stays stubbornly in place.
