Triumph Riddim – Yardlife Entertainment 2009
Triumph Overview
Yardlife Entertainment was the label behind the Triumph Riddim project in 2009. Known for supporting new reggae and dancehall sounds, Yardlife Entertainment helped bring this rhythm to the forefront of Jamaica’s music scene. The Triumph Riddim featured a small group of artists, each bringing their own style. Elijah contributed the song "Wisdom," showing his unique approach to conscious lyrics. Mr Pepper joined forces with G Maffia on "Dem Life." Mr Pepper is well known in the dancehall world, especially for his hit single "Blaze It Up," which gained international attention and was featured on several reggae compilations. Ratigan delivered "Money On Ma Mind," adding his energetic flow to the project. Shane offered "O - Cyaa Hear," rounding out the vocal tracks with his own take on the riddim. The foundation of this project was the Triumph Riddim itself, a solid instrumental built for dancehall and reggae artists to ride. The version allowed sound systems and selectors to showcase the beat in its pure form, a common practice in Jamaican music culture. In 2009, the Triumph Riddim was played on sound systems across the island, helping these songs reach partygoers and reggae fans. The combination of Yardlife Entertainment’s production and the featured artists made this release a memorable part of that year’s reggae and dancehall scene.
