Tripple 8 comes off as a compact dancehall juggling with a tidy club-versus-radio setup, and that structure gives the promo CD a sharper edge than a lot of loose early-2000s compilations. Across nine cuts and six artists, it stays locked into a gritty, straight-ahead groove, with Lil Rick, Peter Ram, Jana And Rashida, Verseewild and Madd Dawg all working the same riddim from different angles. The repeated club and radio mixes keep the energy practical for selectors, while the lone Jana And Rashida tune adds a little extra lift in the middle of the sequence. Lil Rick’s “Anything Can Happen” feels like the anchor here, especially in club form, where his delivery sits right on top of the rhythm and sets the tone for the rest of the set.
