Produced by Duke Reid for Treasure Isle and Seventh Street in 1969, Tonight pulls together a short but strong rocksteady-era lineup with John Holt’s title cut, Winston Wright and Tommy McCook’s instrumental version, and later takes by Hugh Mike, Lloyd Jackson, and Steve Tulloch. The set leans on that classic Treasure Isle sound: warm horns, smooth organ work, and a laid-back groove that made Reid’s productions so durable.
