Seven tracks deep and cut across six artists, the Timba Riddim keeps its focus tight, with Bunji Garlin and RDX doing the heaviest lifting while Busy Signal pops up twice, once on the slyly titled “Scoobay Away” and again on “Born And Grow. ” Stainless Records keeps the whole thing in a raw, punchy 2008 dancehall pocket, and the remixes carry that extra Vinyl Shotz tag that gives the release a slightly reworked edge rather than a straight one-riddim run. Shermain opens the vocal side with “I Came To Show You, ” and the package closes on two versions of the title instrumental, “Timba Riddim” Version 1 and Version 2, which let the rhythm itself get the last word.
