This World Riddim – I-Note Records

This World Riddim comes in with that modern dancehall polish but keeps its focus tight, letting the voicings do the work over a clean, forward-driving groove. I-Note Records put it out in June 2021, and the set runs nine cuts deep with Galiano’s “Live My Life, ” Kemballa’s title track, Ragga-G’s “Neva Give Up, ” and Hibikilla linking with Dabo on “Kono Sekai” as the key anchors. There’s a nice spread of styles across the vocals, from the more reflective turns to the tougher one-drop-to-dancehall pressure, but the closing stretch is where the producer’s thinking shows most clearly: two instrumental passes are left at the end, giving the riddim room to breathe after the singers have had their say.
