In 2011, the yard beat was everywhere in dancehall. This sound, built for big speakers and open air, was made for sound system culture. STREETLIFE PRODUCTIONS was behind one of the strong yard riddims of that year, The Marathon Man Riddim. This producer and label has worked in the dancehall scene for years, building a name with street anthems and club favorites. STREETLIFE PRODUCTIONS has helped shape the sound of modern dancehall, with their tracks getting regular play on Jamaican and UK radio. The Marathon Man Riddim brought together three artists who each gave it their own style. Drew delivered “Nite To Remember,” a song that fits right into any dance session. Gappy Ranks, known for his hit “Heaven In Her Eyes” and his album “Put The Stereo On,” brought his UK dancehall energy to “Gimme Some.” Sam Dash rounded out the riddim with “Marathon Man,” keeping the vibe strong from start to finish.
