Twinkle Music’s The Age Of Reggae Part 2 catches that late-’80s roots moment where the label’s own circle and a few outside voices all circle the same spiritual pulse. Cal Slim Campbell opens things twice with the bright, devotional feel of Try A Little Love and Welcome Everybody, while Phillip Parkinson and Iley P push the set a little deeper on Zion A Love and Zion High, and Sir Lee’s One Black Love has that stern, sermon-like edge that suits the era. The Twinkle Brothers close it with It Gwine Dreada, which feels like the most natural homecoming on the whole cut. Eight tracks, six artists, and just enough room for the riddim to breathe without losing its forward motion.
