TGN lands a little differently from the more overtly roots-leaning work Togetherness would later become known for: this 2004 cut is straight dancehall, lean and tuneful, with just five songs and no wasted space. The real hook is the lineup. Lady Saw’s “No Comparison” brings that sharp, confident bite she could do in her sleep, while Vybz Kartel’s “Smooth Loving” leans into his sly, melodic side rather than the gunman energy people often remember first. I King I’s “Wise Up” and King Dove’s “If You Love Me” keep the riddim moving in a more conscious-to-lovers mode, and the version track makes the whole thing easy to hear as a compact juggling from a label that was still carving out its lane in 2004 out of Saint Ann, Jamaica.
