Kojo Komblo sets the tone on “Judgement, ” the sharpest cut on Augusta Massive’s 2021 Teach Dem Riddim, before Mantse Superfly, Nana Binghi and Ragno carry the juggling through three more roots-minded songs. The production keeps things lean and militant rather than glossy, with four vocal tracks and no filler around them, so each artist gets room to work the same riddim from a different angle. Kojo Komblo’s cut leans into the warning-message side of the title, while “My Life” and “Roots Vibes” stay closer to the conscious, earthbound end of the spectrum.
