Talking Blues Riddim comes from 1975 on Black Art and Grounation, with Lee Scratch Perry and Pete Weston behind the production. This small but striking cut pairs Bob Marley and The Wailers’ Talking Blues with I-Roy’s Straight To The Heathen Head, giving the riddim a tight singer-to-deejay balance that feels very much of its era. It also sits neatly in Perry’s Black Ark period, when his productions were starting to lean into that raw, heavy, studio-crafted sound that later became so influential.
