Produced by Augustus Clarke for Anchor and Music Works in 1988, Twice My Age is the classic late-’80s set built around the original Shabba Ranks and Krystal hit that gave the riddim its name. The version list also includes 1990 cuts from Cocoa Tea, Dean Fraser, Home T, Lady G and Sanchez, Papa San and Lady G, Spanner Banner, and more, which shows how widely the rhythm carried across early dancehall. Shabba Ranks remained one of the key voices on the project, and the tune itself went on to become one of Gussie Clarke’s better-known production links, with the title track still anchoring the release.
