Talk Riddim (2010) – Queste Production

Talk Riddim comes off like a lean 2010 dancehall juggling built for straight-up lyrical sparring, with nine cuts and no wasted space. Queste Production keeps the energy tight and conversational, and the title cut from Queste sits neatly alongside tracks like Versatile’s “Chatta Box” and Tornado’s “Haffi Mek It, ” both of them riding the rhythm with that fast-talking edge the name promises. There’s a nice link between the producer’s own tune and the rest of the set too, as if the whole project is one extended round of badman talk and streetwise boasting. Adrenalin’s “Mi Love It Wen” and Yell’s “No Real Badman” add a bit of extra bite at the edges, just to keep the riddim moving.
