Dalton Harris gives Sweet Ride Riddim its sharpest early spark with “Gi Mi That Whine, ” but the whole Penthouse set has that familiar polished, mid-tempo swing Donovan Germain has long used to keep a dancehall cut leaning melodic rather than ragged. R. C’s “All Night, ” Assassin’s “Person Of Interest, ” and Timeka’s “Stealing Feeling” each sit neatly in that lane, while the title instrumental keeps the rhythm stripped and clean enough to hear the arrangement breathing.
