Greensleeves didn’t usually lean soft, but Sunblock is a slicker, more playful cut of 2004 dancehall, with a bright, rubbery bounce under the usual gunman talk and gal tune energy. Beenie Man’s “Leff Dem To Die” and “New Gal Ah Call” are the obvious anchors here, while Lady Saw’s “Nah Get It Again” and Cecile’s “All Night” push the riddim into that cheeky, late-night zone that defined so much of the era. Alaine’s “I Want You More” adds a smoother edge, giving the set a little romance without cooling off the pace. Coming out in the middle of Greensleeves’ rhythm-album run, Sunblock sits right in that 2004 moment when the label was still packing dancehalls with tightly curated one-riddim projects and major-name combinations.
