Summer Episode Riddim – Multimusic

Out of the 2014 dancehall crop, Summer Episode Riddim feels like a small, sun-baked snapshot rather than a big juggling piece: Multimusic keeps it tight with just two cuts, and that focus gives the release a neat, local-party energy. Jonnah’s “Waah Gwaan (Summer Is Here Again)” leans into the season name with a bright, playful chat, while Simz’s “Di Summer Hot Til It Burn Up” pushes the temperature a little higher and rides the riddim with a sharper edge. With only those two voices on the rhythm, the producer’s hand stays right in the pocket, letting the songs do the talking instead of crowding them. It’s a quick listen, 2014 stamped all over it, and that’s part of the charm.
