Street Heat Riddim – King I-Vier Music and Loud City

Street Heat Riddim comes out of the Kingston-to-Bay Area link between King I-Vier Music and Loud City, with the set landing in January 2023. King I-Vier has long worked as a reggae club, sound clash and radio DJ-producer, while Loud City is the production outfit headed by Grammy-nominated producer/songwriter Dan Grossman, whose catalog moves between reggae, dancehall and other cross-genre work.

The riddim itself has a hard-edged, modern dancehall pulse: sharp drums, a stripped low end, and enough space for each voice to cut through without the mix getting crowded. It is not a throwback piece; it feels designed for current radio and sound-system rotation, with an instrumental that lets the bare production breathe. The mood stays tense and streetwise rather than playful, which fits the title and the energy of the vocals riding it.

Sizzla’s Congo brings veteran weight to the project. His style has always carried that militant, conscious edge, and here he sits naturally on top of the rhythm’s clipped momentum. Eesah gets two turns, with Money Up and Liberation, and those cuts fit his reputation for spiritually minded, roots-leaning modern reggae with a sharper dancehall frame. Blvk H3ro’s Battlefield adds a younger, more hybrid voice from the Portmore generation, while MediSun’s Red Inna Earth pulls in his chantlike, healing-focused approach and gives the riddim a more reflective finish.

What makes Street Heat work is the balance: an experienced hitmaker, a conscious new-school singer, a futuristic Jamaican voice and a meditation-minded roots artist all locked into one charged dancehall pattern.
