Stand Pipe Riddim – 1st Klase Productions

Stand Pipe Riddim has that tight, bare-bones 2010 dancehall snap, the kind of cut where the version can sit just as proudly as the songs riding it. 1st Klase Productions keeps the rhythm lean and punchy, and Shal Marshall’s “Gyal Name Money” is the track that most naturally catches the ear against that skittering backdrop, with Faahahrryonhhd’s “Fashion” and Umi Marcano feat. Hollywood Sachy’s “Fast And Slow” adding a lighter, melodic run through the set. It’s a short piece, only five tracks all told, but that compact tracklist gives the riddim a nice, almost demo-like focus; even the instrumental version feels like it was left in for a reason.
