Ten cuts deep and every one of them pitched as sound-system warfare, Sound Clash 89′ Vol 2 gathers a tight 1989 lineup with Courtney Melody, Little John, Robert Lee and Clement Irie all taking a turn on the Super Power rhythm. The record leans hard into that late-’80s digital dancehall pressure, with big-toasting hooks, sharp one-drop bounce and plenty of clashes-and-dubs language in the titles, while Courtney Melody’s “Kill A Sound Boy With Ease” and Little John’s “Straight To Them Head” sound like the obvious flashpoints. It’s also part of the same Super Power/King Jammy-era run that kept these sound clash compilations moving through the period, and the sequencing keeps the energy tight all the way through. The tracklist runs from Banana Man’s “My Sound Rule The World” to Tuffis’ “Pack Up And Leave. ”
