Soul Digger Riddim finds YB Productions working in a more straight-ahead 2017 dancehall mode, with a compact nine-track set and seven different voices moving across the same instrumental. The lineup leans on Adonvi’s “Gold Digger, ” Cymbhal’s “You’Re So Fine, ” Insignii’s “Born To Win, ” and Donvil Maze on “Roll With The Punches, ” with raw versions folded in for the harder-edged cuts. The production sits in that tight, late-2010s lane: a clipped drum pattern, a weighty bassline, and enough space in the arrangement for the singers and deejays to ride the groove without crowding it. Kriz Kapital and Swashii close it out with “Anuh Everybody, ” which helps underline the riddim’s blunt, mid-tempo pressure and the sharp vocal phrasing that keeps the whole thing moving.
