Sojourn Riddim – Young Veterans Music

Young Veterans usually come harder and more sprawling than this, so Sojourn Riddim feels almost lean by comparison: just four cuts, but the roster is tidy and well chosen. Fantan Mojah’s “Just The Feeling” leads the way, with Perfect’s “7 Foot Spliff” giving the juggling a more playful edge before Serengeti’s “Love The Chase” and Osheen Pearce’s “Superman” close it out. Young Veterans were already busy in 2012, coming off earlier releases like Jah Protect and Climaxx, and this one keeps their reggae side focused on melody and chant rather than excess. The sequencing feels deliberate, too, like the producer wanted each voice to land cleanly before moving on to the next, with Fantan Mojah placed up front as the obvious anchor.
