Eight tracks and seven voices give Skelenton Riddim a compact, straight-to-the-point shape, with Bencil doubling up on “Still A Geet Weh” in both clean and raw versions so the set has a little extra bite. Deal Wid It Family Records keeps the energy in that early-2010s dancehall pocket: lean, tough, and geared for the dance rather than the charts. Bazza T’s “Meh Ah Di Man” and Kay Tendaness’ “Cyaa Stop Call” carry the attitude, while Gustin’s “Hot Bush Hush” and Neutron’s “Nah Malice Mi Fren Fi Gyal” lean harder into the rude-boy side of the riddim. The project closes with Nymron’s “Why” and the instrumental itself, which lets the skeletal, stripped-down backbone of the riddim speak for itself.
