Anthony B and Jazzwad team up on “Jet Ski, ” a breezy, modern
dancehall cut that rides on motion and attitude rather than heavy
drama. The title says a lot: this is music for speed, water, sun
and flex, with Anthony B’s sturdy voice carrying the song in his
usual straight-talking style. It feels cut from the same cloth as
the party-forward side of his catalog, where presence and melody do
as much work as the lyric.
Anthony B has long sat among the
better-known roots-to-dancehall voices out of Jamaica, a singer
whose name has stayed in circulation since the mid-1990s and whose
delivery still carries that unmistakable militant warmth. Jazzwad,
the longtime producer Paul Yebuah, has been behind a deep stretch
of Jamaican and sound-system-facing releases since the early 1990s,
with credits that run from versions and juggling cuts to his own
productions. That history gives “Jet Ski” some weight: it is not a
novelty pairing, but a meeting between a veteran voice and a
producer who understands how to frame a track for the dance.
The release comes through Ineffable Records
in 2026, part of a label arm known for pushing independent reggae
and Caribbean music with an international reach. “Jet Ski” fits
that lane neatly: crisp, contemporary, and built for speakers, with
a light, cruising feel that leaves room for Anthony B to sound
relaxed and in control.
