Seven Overview

The Seven Riddim roots drop first appeared in 2009 and quickly became a favorite in reggae sound systems that year. The release was produced by Special Delivery Music, a respected label known for working with top reggae and dancehall artists since the early 2000s. Special Delivery Music is also recognized for their work on riddims like "One Drop," which helped boost their reputation in the reggae community. This 2009 release features a strong lineup of artists, each bringing their own style to the rootsy riddim. Sizzla delivers "Tender Touch," adding his signature energy and smooth vocals. Sizzla is well known for his hit album "Da Real Thing," which included several charting singles and helped establish him as a major figure in reggae. Mykal Rose And Chukki Starr team up for "Ghetto Life," blending Rose’s classic Black Uhuru roots sound with Chukki Starr’s UK dancehall influence. Mykal Rose is especially famous for his Grammy-winning work with Black Uhuru in the 1980s. Jamelody’s "I Told You" stands out for its soulful delivery, while Ziggi’s "Shackles And Chains" brings a modern edge. Ziggi is known for his work in the European reggae scene, especially in the Netherlands. Tiwony closes the set with "Rep," adding a French-Caribbean flavor.
