Settings Riddim – District Records

In 2021, dancehall was still leaning hard into compact, club-ready riddims, and Settings fits that mood with a stripped-back, no-nonsense swing that leaves plenty of room for the vocals to hit. CaliGray opens the set with the title cut, Ginger follows with the more playful Party Mood, and Logun’s We Ready brings a sharper, more commanding edge to the rhythm. District Records keeps the arrangement lean and punchy, more about movement and pressure than decorative flourishes, so the hooky phrasing on the songs does most of the heavy lifting. The instrumental closes it out under the District Records name, tying the project together with the same clipped bounce and clean dancehall pulse that carries the whole four-track release.
