Sending Riddim – Arrows Records

A little late-night dancehall charm from Arrows Records, this one keeps it tight with just three cuts and a proper old-school feel. Alley Cat’s “Hot Gal Sitten” is the grabber here, full of cheeky swagger and that clipped, chatty delivery that made him such a consistent voice in the era, while Roundhead and Chevelle’s “Sending You A Message” gives the riddim its title and leans into the conversational back-and-forth. S Dunbar and S Marsden close things out with the version, which lets the groove breathe without overcomplicating it. It’s a small release, but that’s part of the appeal: a compact 1997-style dancehall set from Arrows that lands right in the pocket and feels made for crate-diggers chasing the tougher, rarer side of the catalogue.
