Seeing Is Knowing Riddim – Amalgamated is a 1968 Joe Gibbs production for Amalgamated, anchored by just two cuts: Lee Scratch Perry’s Kimble and the Stranger Cole and Gladstone Anderson duet Seeing Is Knowing. The set captures a key early reggae moment, with Perry already in Gibbs’ orbit and Stranger Cole teaming with Gladdy on one of their better-known collaborations. It’s a compact release, but the pairing of Perry’s rough-edged vocal and the smoother Cole-Anderson side gives the riddim a nice contrast, and Seeing Is Knowing is the track that most firmly defines the session.
