1975’s Cold I Up Riddim comes from Bunny Striker Lee on an unknown label, with just two cuts carrying the set: Johnny Clarke’s Cold I Up and The Aggrovators’ A Colder Version. That pairing keeps the release tightly focused on Clarke’s roots vocal and the tough backing-band version, which also turns up in dub form as A Colder Version on later compilations. Bunny Lee was deep into his run with Johnny Clarke and The Aggrovators by this point, and this one fits neatly into that mid-’70s Kingston sound he helped define.
