During Trinidad and Tobago’s carnival season, the music truck is the heart of every parade. The powerful sound systems blast soca hits, and the crowd follows, jumping and waving to every beat. In 2012, a special set of songs stood out and made DJs reload the tracks again and again. The base of this parade anthem was the Salsa Riddim, produced by MILLBEATZ ENTERTAINMENT. MILLBEATZ ENTERTAINMENT is a well-known production house in Trinidad and Tobago. Founded by Kitwana Israel, the label is respected for creating some of the most popular soca riddims in the Caribbean. Their work has reached fans worldwide, and the Salsa Riddim is one of their most memorable projects. On this riddim, Olatunji delivered “Bam Bam,” a song that quickly became a crowd favorite. Olatunji, who later won the International Soca Monarch title in 2015, showed his unique energy and catchy hooks on this track. Menace followed with “Jiggle De Ting,” bringing playful lyrics and dance instructions that kept the parade moving. Renzo’s “Bend Ya Back” added even more excitement, with his smooth vocals and infectious rhythm.
