ROYALTY RIDDIM produced by XTERMINATOR PRODUCTIONS 2011
Royalty Overview
In 2011, reggae music was still shaped by the classic one drop rhythm. This sound is known for its deep bass and steady drumbeat, keeping the roots of reggae alive in dancehalls and sound systems. That year, XTERMINATOR PRODUCTIONS played a key role in keeping this tradition strong. Founded by the late Philip "Fatis" Burrell in the 1980s, the label is famous for working with top reggae artists and producing timeless hits in the genre. The Royalty Riddim release brought together three powerful voices. Jesse Royal, known for his conscious lyrics and modern roots style, delivered "Hatred Is The Obsolete Route." This track highlights his message-driven approach, which would later be seen in his acclaimed album "Lily of da Valley" in 2017. Sizzla Kalonji, a major figure in reggae and dancehall, added "See Me" to the riddim. Sizzla is celebrated for his massive catalog, including the classic album "Da Real Thing," and is known for his energetic performances and Rastafarian themes. Turbulence, another respected artist, contributed "Jah Is Love." He is well known for his hit song "Notorious," and his music often focuses on spirituality and social issues. This 2011 one drop base, guided by XTERMINATOR PRODUCTIONS, remains a strong example of modern roots reggae.
