RIDING WEST RIDDIM produced by JAH LIFE MUSIC 2016
Riding West Overview
The Riding West Riddim started in the studio with a strong vision. The producer, JAH LIFE MUSIC, wanted to blend classic dancehall energy with new sounds. JAH LIFE MUSIC is known for shaping the New York reggae scene since the 1980s. The label has worked with many big artists and has a history of releasing tracks that DJs love to play. For Riding West Riddim, JAH LIFE MUSIC focused on heavy basslines and catchy melodies. The riddim was built to make people move, and the team spent hours perfecting the mix. The creative direction was clear: keep the roots of dancehall, but add a fresh twist for 2016. Several talented artists brought their own style to the riddim. Sister Carol delivered "30 Plenty," showing her signature flow. She is respected worldwide, especially for her Grammy-nominated album "Lyrically Potent." Conroy Smith added two tracks, "Dangerous" and "Dallar Van Ride." Smith is well known for his hit "Dangerous," which has been a favorite in dancehall for years. Terrible Cat’s "Manny Manny" stands out with its playful lyrics. Manny More brought a different vibe with "Mood To Kill," adding smooth vocals to the mix. Bunny General closed out the main lineup with "Girl Fi Settle Down." Bunny General is recognized for his work in the digital dancehall era, including the popular tune "Full Up A Class." Looking back, the Riding West Riddim captured the lively spirit of 2016.
