Reggae Reasoning Riddim - Reggaeland Productions

Reggaeland Productions came out of Barcelona’s reggae scene under the hand of Genis “Genious” Trani, a producer and engineer who has spent years shaping the label’s sound and cutting original riddims from Spain rather than simply servicing imported rhythms. Reggae Reasoning arrived on digital platforms on November 30, 2011, and the release credits sit under Reggaeland Records with Trani handling production.

The riddim itself has a bright, guitar-led feel, more uplifting than heavy, with an easy rolling pulse that leaves room for melody and clear phrasing. It is one of those modern roots sets that prefers warmth and movement over hard edges, and the remix cuts underline that same idea without changing the core character of the rhythm. The version cut helps frame the whole thing as a proper juggling project rather than a loose compilation.

The strongest names on it tell the story. Mikey General brings the kind of conscious, spiritually grounded delivery he has carried through decades of work with roots producers in Jamaica and the UK, and “Wipe Your Tears” suits that steady tenor well. Jah Mali, born Ryan Thomas in Clarendon, Jamaica, has long been associated with roots-conscious singing, and “Courageously” fits his reflective style. Chantelle Ernandez, a Kingston-born singer-songwriter of Jamaican and Cuban background, adds a lighter, melodic touch on “Reggae Reasoning, ” while Anthony Que’s “Blowing In The Wind” brings a clean, soulful lift. With Anjelle, Singer Jah, Malijah, and Miguel Arraigo also in the mix, the riddim lands as a well-traveled roots release with enough voices to keep it moving without losing its center.
