In 2016, the Reggae Party Riddim brought together modern reggae voices and classic sound system culture. The riddim’s musical backdrop was built for big speakers and open-air dances, just like the early Jamaican sound systems. It used strong basslines and lively drums, creating a space where singers could shine and crowds could move together. RUFF TOUCH MOVEMENT produced this riddim, leading the project with experience and care. As a foundation builder in reggae, RUFF TOUCH MOVEMENT is known for working with both new and established artists. The label’s productions often appear on streaming platforms and in DJ sets around the world. The Reggae Party Riddim featured four artists, each with their own style. Gappy Ranks delivered the track Promise. Gappy Ranks is known for his hit single "Heaven in Her Eyes," which reached reggae charts in the UK and brought him international attention. His smooth delivery on Promise fit perfectly with the riddim’s upbeat mood. Exco Levi, a five-time Juno Award winner from Canada, contributed the song Jah Guide. His powerful voice and uplifting lyrics added depth to the lineup. Nature performed Reggae Party, giving the riddim its name and bringing a joyful, classic reggae feeling to the release. Alethia rounded out the set with Feelings, showing a softer, melodic side of the riddim. Together, these songs and artists kept reggae’s roots strong in 2016. The Reggae Party Riddim stands as a modern tribute to sound system culture and the spirit of collaboration in reggae music.
