Out of 2008, the Promise Riddim from Buffboo Records sits right in that period when reggae productions were keeping the grooves light on their feet but still leaning into sharper lyrical angles. This five-cut set lines up Cecile, Be, Peter Runks, Shacara and Lady Saw, with Saw’s “Where He Is” giving the riddim its most immediate star power.
