PROGRESSIVE RIDDIM produced by HEART OF LOVE LABEL 2006
Progressive Overview
In early 2006, a new dancehall set started to take shape in Kingston. The project began in the studio of HEART OF LOVE LABEL, a production house known for its deep roots in reggae and dancehall. HEART OF LOVE LABEL had already built a name for quality releases, working with some of Jamaica’s most respected voices. The team brought in a skilled bashment arranger to shape the sound, making sure each track would hit hard on the dance floor. The riddim, named Progressive Riddim, was designed to capture the energy of the streets. As the music came together, top artists were invited to record over the fresh beat. Natural Black laid down “None Shall Escape,” bringing his signature conscious lyrics. Norrisman followed with “Make No Sence,” adding his smooth delivery. Richie Spice, known for his powerful hit “Earth A Run Red,” delivered “Water Me Down,” showing his ability to mix roots and dancehall. Sizzla, famous for albums like “Da Real Thing,” contributed “Get Up & Stand Up,” giving the riddim a fiery edge. The set closed with “Progressive Riddim” (Version), letting the instrumental shine. When the collection dropped, it quickly took over bashment sessions across Jamaica. Selectors and fans embraced the riddim’s anthemic sound. Each artist brought something unique, but together they created a set that spoke to the heart of dancehall culture. By the end of 2006, Progressive Riddim had become a touchstone in the scene, remembered for its energy and the way it brought people together on the dance floor.
