Prime Time Riddim lands in that early-2004 roots pocket where the groove does the talking, with a lean six-track set and Richie Spice’s “Prime Time Girl” sitting right at the center of it. Lij Amlak’s “Education” and Omar Silk’s “Rastafari Reigns” keep the consciousness level high, and the whole thing feels cut from the same sturdy, meditative cloth as Richie’s tune rather than chasing any flashy studio trickery.
