Power Riddim – Abebas Reggae Runners

Abeba’s Reggae Runners keep the Power Riddim in a lean, no-frills 2017 dancehall package, with six cuts that lean more on attitude than gimmicks. Gully Bop’s “No Mixtape” comes in with that sharp, street-level energy he was known for, while Rasta Steve’s “Nuff Of It” gives the juggling a tougher, chant-heavy edge. Trev Hailewood gets the biggest spotlight here: “Black Power” and the “Black Power Remix” with Danny Lion push the riddim into militant territory, and the title alone tells you exactly the kind of mood they’re after.
