Pinhead Riddim – Homefront

Back in 2014, when roots-and-modern reggae compilations were still leaning on lean, digital-style riddims, Homefront came through with Pinhead, a seven-track set that keeps the focus on the vocal cuts. The nicest moment is probably Lloyd Brown and Kele Le Roc on “If You Want Good, ” where their voices sit easy over a bright, rolling groove, while Golden Melody’s “Love and War” pushes the same rhythm into a more reflective, slightly tougher mood. Sarjant D’s “No Worry Bout Dem” and Dan I’s title cut keep the energy moving without overcomplicating anything, and the instrumental at the end lets the pattern breathe on its own. It’s a compact little 2014 release, but one that feels tuned for sound system play rather than studio polish.
