Phantom Overview
The island beat has always played a big part in Caribbean music, especially during Carnival. In 2012, a new soca riddim quickly became the soundtrack for parties and street parades. This energetic mix was shaped by VAL MUSIK PRODUCTIONS, a producer known for bringing together strong rhythms and catchy melodies. VAL MUSIK PRODUCTIONS has worked on several soca projects and is recognized for helping to push the genre forward. The mix featured three standout artists. Nadia Boston brought her song "Manager" to the riddim, adding her unique voice and style. Bunji Garlin, one of Trinidad and Tobago’s top soca stars, joined with "Changes." Bunji Garlin is well known for his hit "Differentology," which won the Soul Train Award for Best International Performance in 2013. His powerful delivery and clever lyrics always get the crowd moving. Shurwayne Whinchester, another respected name in soca, contributed "Tobago Love." He has won multiple Road March titles in Trinidad and Tobago, showing his strong connection to Carnival culture. Each artist added their own flavor, but the riddim tied everything together with its colorful grooves and lively tempo.
