Party Hangover Riddim – Full Chaarge Records

Full Chaarge Records had a busy run in the middle of the 2010s, and Party Hangover Riddim sits right in that lane: a 2016 dancehall juggling with a sharp club pulse and a deliberately party-first title. The label is closely tied to ZJ Dymond, the Jamaican radio DJ and producer who has been active in sound system culture and club work for years, and whose productions have leaned on clean arrangements and quick-hit hooks. The riddim itself lands at about 105 BPM, which gives it enough bounce for wine-and-move cuts without losing the drive needed for straight-forward dancehall rotation.

The biggest names on the project do a lot of the heavy lifting. Vybz Kartel’s In Heaven brings his usual sly, catchy phrasing to the rhythm, while Demarco’s Party Tonight pushes the set even further into bashment mode with an easy singalong feel. Konshens’ Whine Up On Me is one of the more obvious dancefloor cuts, and I-Octane’s The Season adds a more seasonal, lifestyle-driven angle. Voicemail, RDX, and Juggla keep the energy moving, with RDX’s Couple Up giving the riddim a playful, flirtatious edge and Voicemail’s What Is Mine fitting neatly into the group’s harmony-heavy style.

Bramma’s Roll E Polly, featuring ZJ Dymond, adds another layer of personality to the project, while Eshconinco, Raytid, and One Point help round out a release that feels made for juggling rather than just album listening. The instrumental closes the set cleanly and leaves the rhythm itself doing the talking.
