In 2011, when dancehall was still leaning hard into money talk and street hustle themes, Paper Chase Riddim Part 1 kept its focus tight and functional: three voicings over a stripped-back riddim that lets the bass and percussion do the talking. Alandon opens with “Money Mi A Hunt, ” Rikki Tikki follows with “Tell Me Why, ” and Stein closes the set with “Money Inna Mi Pocket, ” which feels like the natural summation of the whole idea. There’s no wasted motion here, just a lean, hustler-minded cut that gets straight to the point and keeps the energy moving. Stein’s turn is the one that lingers longest, but the instrumental itself is really the spine of the project, carrying the theme cleanly through to the end.
