Pantomine Rock Riddim – Unknown Label

Produced by Glen Brown in 1978, Pantomine Rock comes out of his Pantomine-era catalogue with just two cuts: the title instrumental and Sylford Walker’s My Fathers Land. Brown’s name is the main draw here, and the riddim sits in that late-70s roots pocket he was shaping for his own productions, with a spare, rolling groove that feels very much of its time. It’s a short but recognisable slice of classic Jamaican studio craft, the kind of cut that links Brown’s instrumental side with Walker’s conscious vocal style.
