Pain Riddim – Taxi Records

Pain Riddim was produced by Taxi Records in 1997 and pulls together a tight four-track dancehall lineup with Innocent Crew on Pain, Merciless on Kill and Rob, Scaredem Crew on Prang, and Simpleton on Simpleton – Flava. It’s a short but sharp juggling, with Merciless and Simpleton giving the rhythm its biggest names and easiest entry points. Taxi Records, the Sly and Robbie camp, brought a clean, heavyweight sound that was a big part of its appeal in the late ’90s dancehall era.
